Every atelier we work with goes through rigorous testing. With significant research and visits to different European factories, we select only the few we can see deliver top-tier quality. Nothing is left to chance. Throughout the years, we have built strong relationships with these craftsmen, who have learnt what’s needed to fulfil the MORJAS quality we know and love.
The Goodyear Welt Factory
In the small village of Almansa lies our family-owned factory, where our team have been crafting handmade shoes of supreme quality since the 1920s. Quality often requires time. Each pair takes 8 weeks to make and involves over 128 thoughtful steps, from the first cut to the last finish. Over 61 dedicated working stations are passed. The result is a meticulously crafted shoe with superior quality that is well worth the wait.
The Small Leather Goods Factory
Nestled behind majestic valleys of olive trees lies the small town of Ubrique with over 150 years of tradition and craftsmanship.
The Espadrille Factory
Our factory is located in Caravaca de la Cruz, in the Southeast of Spain. It’s an important area of the ancient shoe culture and well known for its traditional local festivities, for example, Los Caballos del Vino, where horsemen, during the race, ran up the town’s hill in handmade espadrilles with jute soles.
The current production process maintains many parts of the traditional method - using jute, a tropical shrub, as one of its primary raw materials in a completely handmade manufacturing system.
The Driving Shoe Factory
We started in Spain, continued to Portugal and ended up in Italy.
After searching far and wide for an atelier that could make our version of the iconic driving shoe, we finally found a little town in the mountains of Campania, Italy, called Padula.
The Sneaker Factory
Our sneaker factory is located in Felgueiras, Portugal and they’ve been manufacturing sneakers since the 1940s. We have the same approach with our sneakers as for our Goodyear welted shoes - doing a few things exceptionally well rather than doing a lot of things just OK. Our driving force is always to make the best version of a sneaker we possibly can.
The Belt Factory
Located in south of Spain with more than 65 years experience. For three generations the production of belts has continued to be the same. Crafted by hand with artisans behind every stroke.
